Raphael Sanzio was one of the three famous painters in the renaissance period.  Raphael had painted many great works such as the triumph of Galatea and Leo X. Raphael didn’t always paint pictures he sometimes painted fresco’s and Vatican’s. One of his famous fresco’s would be  The School of Athens.  now you know a little bit of background information ill tell you about him in general. Raphael was born on April 6th 1483, and then died 37 years later… exactly (April 6th 1520). he was taught a bit about painting from his dad but most of it he learnt from a man called Perugino.  here are some pictures of the legendary painter.

1. What did I feel successful doing during the process of the project? What am I proud of?

i feel that my game was very successful because i didn’t expect so many people to come and play it and all of them had fun and experienced the hardship of blacksmithing. im also very proud of finishing my whole writing assingment in class and i did it well too.

2. What new skills did I value learning?

hard work because this quarter i think i did very well and was working my hardest to et a good grade

3. What was challenging during the process of completing the project? With what did I struggle?

i thought the challenging bit of the project was getting the information because it was quite annoying having to go to all the sites you gave us and i kinda struglled with that also

4. How could I have improved my process so that I would have been more effective?

i could have improved my process by choosing a good topic the first time and not the second.

5. Did I effectively create an age-appropriate presentation and game for the elementary students? (please explain how you know it was appropriate or how you could have changed it to be more appropriate)

yes i made a appropriate game for the age group that came because they all liked it and for my oral presentation i knew it was good because when i said it all the people around laughed.

1. What did I feel successful doing during the process of the project? What am I proud of?

during the project i felt sucsefull when we made our  jeopardy game because i thought it turned out really well and i am proud of my questions because i thought they were just right (not too hard and not to easy). i thought i did really well getting all my information because i got quite a bit of it.

2. What new skills did I value learning?

i enjoyed learning to cooperate with annoying girls such as Sophie and Tilly in particular. i also liked learning how to create a jeopardy game by using Microsoft PowerPoint. i also learned how to make a online reasearch space on Britannica.

3. What was challenging during the process of completing the project? With what did I struggle?

i thought the challenging bit of the project was communicating with Sophie and Tilly because they want to do it all to get a good grade. also it was a bit challenging remembering the right hyper links  to go to the pages thats why there was a few mistakes but it turned out as good as gold.

4. How could I have improved my process so that I would have been more effective?

i could of been a bit more progressive if i had concentrated more and didnt talk as much. also it would have been easier if me and Joe helped more because mainly the girls did the work because they didn’t think we could help much and thought they could do it better than us but it still turned out quite good.

what is the issue?

the issue is that there was a huge earthquake in Indonesia which caused many people to lose there homes and 13 have been reported dead. the earthquake is magnitude 8.4 on the Richter scale and they now are linking it to the tsunami that hit Indonesia and the volcano, the earthquake is said to be causing another tsunami that will be bigger than the previous tsunami and may wipe out Indonesia.

who is involved?

the goverment
the dead
the families of those who died
the people of Indonesia
the U.N.

how are they involved?

the government is involved because they’re citizens are dieing and they need to do something about it, the people who died are affected because they died, the family of the dead are affected because they lost a family member, the people of Indonesia because they could die next, the U.N. because they’re going to help everyone.
what would i do if i was directly involved?

if i was directly involved i would set up a earthquake detector so everyone can get to safety before the earthquake comes and place medic unit around the place so the injured have a better chance to live and for those who died i would give there family something to pay for the funerals and the treatment for people who were injured.

the things i found out were that HIV / AID’S is very common and found out what it stands for and i thought the things kevin’s group said about how there is thousands of child solgiers just in africa becasue of the blood diamond conflict is really sad. i also liked michael and his groups Imovie becasue of how it was done and made everything feel sad and still said lots of the information.

i think the worst choice someone in our group made was picking globalization because its not very ecxiting and its quite hard to find good pictures about globalization. we also needed to put more in the slideshow we made because we didnt get the main definitions of globalization across very clearly. also we should have either memorized the onformation or wrote it down a piece of paper becuse the whole group was reading of the screen, i also tried to convice my group that making the slides move automatically and doing the word in garage band so we would’nt forget the lines.

un question

Posted on May 6th, 2007 in School by Nick

my UN question was…

can the un in its current configuration and operation of existing programs be effective in preventing global terrorisim?

i say yes the UN can be effective in preventing global terrorisim because the UN has power and it has enough power to do something because america and other countries like that have lots of firepower and could sure enough be able to destroy threats but the UN does not have the power to eliminate global terrorisim and not enough members. the UN first has to do these things before it can have the slightest chance of eliminating global terrorisim…………..

get rid of all the poverty in the world beacause the poor people are more likely of giving in to people how want to turn them in terrorists.

then make people aware of terrorisim and what terrorists would try to do to get you to join there group.

then and only then they will be able to get rid of terrorisim but it would’nt take much of a effort to start up another terrorist group so they would have to always be alert to new threats and poverty.

ANZAC DAY

Title of webpage: We Remember Them

authors: stuart sherwin, chris griffith and AAP

published: 25th of the 4th 2007

website: courier mail

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,21618208-952,00.htmlhttp://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,21618208-952,00.html

What is the issue?

The issue is that on the 25th of april 10’s of thousands of people came to watch the marching of the vetran’s of war from australia in brisbane and this day is a tradition started in world war 1. the vetran’s rode in golf buugies instead of the traditional jeep. although there are no world war 1 vetreans left there are still some of world war 2.  There were also 2 dead men found in ho chi minh city one was the Lance Corporal Richard Parker and the other of Private Peter Gillson. These traditions are known as ANZAC day.

who was invovled?

  • the whole of brisbane (australia)
  • the families of those who died in the war
  • the people who died in the war
  • the vetrans of war
  • the prime minister
  •  how were they involved?

the whole of brisbane was involved because many people came to this event and if they didnt they should have because ANZAC day is one of the biggest australian traditions ever made. also the families of those who died in the war because they lost a loved one. The people who died in the war because they fought for the rights of australia and other countries and also because this the day all were comemerated. The vetrans of war because they were lucky enough to be alive and they are also comemerated on this day. the prime minister of australia becuase he wasnt there on this day like he should have been.

what I would have done if I was directly involved?

ANZAC day is a peacefull day and i would’nt change anything if i was directly involved except making the prime minister come to this great march.
